What a poignant comment on our society. The statue is still beautiful in a sad kind of way.

This is truly a sad thing to see.

It is so sad that items so beautiful are ruined for other people. One wonders what sort of person can do this sort of thing. What sort of upbringing they may have had. Sadly the police will never catch them; the vandals are too clever for that! Diane

So forlorn.

That is horrible. I wonder if whoever did this believes in karma.

Well that's just sad, but I suppose it leaves a marker of our time too. Your composition is really nice.

This must have been an alarming sight to happen upon. It's so distressing. What drives a person to desecrate an image of beauty? We have the same problem here too. There is so much in life I do not understand.

Why do people do that????

This is sad to see - and we see it around the world. «Louis» will never understand why people do this...

Probably this is a sign of our contemporary
culture though in Pompei there are similar
